myBackPain.co.uk is operated by Osteospinal, a clinical practice providing structured back pain assessment tools for patients and practitioners. References to "we", "us", or "our" in these terms refer to Osteospinal / myBackPain.co.uk.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the myBackPain website, assessment tool, or any associated content, you agree to be bound by these terms of use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

3. Nature of the service

The myBackPain assessment is a structured information tool designed to help users understand possible causes of their back pain based on their self-reported symptoms. It is built on clinical reasoning frameworks used in osteopathic practice.

The service does not:

Provide treatment or prescribe medication
Establish a clinical relationship between you and myBackPain.co.uk or Osteospinal
Guarantee the accuracy of its findings in any individual case

⚠ If you are experiencing a medical emergency

Call 999 or go to A&E immediately if you have: sudden loss of bladder or bowel control alongside back pain • sudden severe back pain following injury • rapidly worsening leg weakness • sudden severe tearing pain in the back or abdomen. These may be medical emergencies requiring immediate attention.

5. Eligibility

The assessment is designed for adults aged 16 and over. It is not designed for use by children under 16. If you are using the assessment on behalf of someone else, you take responsibility for ensuring its appropriate use.

6. Accuracy of information you provide

The quality and relevance of your report depends entirely on the accuracy of the answers you provide. You are responsible for answering the assessment questions accurately and completely. We cannot be responsible for results that are misleading due to inaccurate, incomplete, or false information provided by the user.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, myBackPain.co.uk and Osteospinal accept no liability for:

Any clinical decision made in reliance on the assessment report
Any harm, loss, or damage arising from use of or reliance on the assessment
Any failure of the assessment to identify a condition present in an individual user
Any technical errors, interruptions, or inaccuracies in the service
Any indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from use of the service

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

8. Intellectual property

All content on myBackPain.co.uk — including the assessment questions, scoring logic, clinical reasoning framework, condition pages, and all written content — is the intellectual property of Osteospinal / myBackPain.co.uk and is protected by copyright law. Unauthorised copying, reproduction, distribution, or commercial use of any content is strictly prohibited.

The clinical scoring algorithm embedded in the assessment tool is proprietary. Any attempt to extract, copy, reverse-engineer, or commercially replicate the assessment logic is prohibited.

9. Payment and refunds

The myBackPain assessment is a paid service. Payment is processed securely at the point of assessment completion. Once your report has been generated and delivered, the service has been rendered. Refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis — please contact us if you have a concern about your purchase.

10. Links to other websites

myBackPain.co.uk may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of those sites. Links do not constitute endorsement.

11. Changes to these terms
