The myBackPain assessment is an information and guidance tool only. It does not constitute medical advice, clinical diagnosis, or a substitute for professional healthcare. If you are in severe pain, have experienced a significant injury, or have symptoms affecting your bladder or bowel alongside back pain — please go to A&E or call 999 rather than using this tool.

3. Nature of the service

The myBackPain assessment is a structured information tool designed to help users understand possible causes of their back pain based on their self-reported symptoms. It is built on clinical reasoning frameworks used in osteopathic practice.

The service:

  • Provides information and structured guidance based on your symptom pattern
  • Identifies possible causes of back pain consistent with your answers
  • Includes safety screening designed to identify features that may require urgent or medical attention
  • Produces a personalised report for your information and for sharing with healthcare professionals

The service does not:

  • Constitute a medical diagnosis
  • Replace clinical examination, imaging, or blood tests where these are clinically indicated
  • Provide treatment or prescribe medication
  • Establish a clinical relationship between you and myBackPain.co.uk or Osteospinal
  • Guarantee the accuracy of its findings in any individual case

⚠ If you are experiencing a medical emergency

These may be medical emergencies requiring immediate attention.

The limitation of liability clause (section 7) in particular should be reviewed against current UK consumer protection legislation.
